Install
- Download the installer from the Download page and run it. Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.
- The installer places the EA in the
MQL5\Expertsfolder of every MetaTrader 5 terminal it finds and opens the app. - The app starts its 7-day trial by itself: one MT5 account, no card, no email.
Nothing else to set up. There is no news calendar to allow: the app fetches it and hands it to the EA. The window opens fitted to your screen — one tall column, a compact one or two columns, whatever your monitor has room for — and remembers its place per monitor.
Attach the EA
- In MT5, open the Navigator (Ctrl+N), expand Expert Advisors and drag
Prop Logicianonto any chart. - Leave Allow Algo Trading on in the dialog. The inputs can stay at their defaults; the app sets everything that matters.
- The panel connects within a second. The chart shows the EA's own dashboard, the breach lines (each says the account's equity at that price and the money left to the firm's limit) and your trade marks; press D to fold it.
One chart is enough: the EA guards the whole account, not just that symbol. The chart's symbol is the one the ticket trades. Several charts of the same account? Attach the EA to each: every copy guards its own chart, and the app follows the chart you clicked last. A program or size you choose in the app reaches every chart's copy within a second. On a chart without the EA, the app says so in place of the ticket: the limits and positions stay, and the tools that act on the EA chart's symbol wait until you click a chart that has it.
Choose your account
Your firm doesn't tell MetaTrader which program a login is, so the first time the EA runs on a login the app shows the setup card. It pre-selects what it can read: the firm from the server name, the account size from the first deposit, Standard or Swing from the leverage. You confirm the rest once; the app remembers it for that login.
Your firm doesn't tell MetaTrader which program login 1514758953 is. Choose it once; the app remembers it for this login.
Detected from the first deposit: $200,000
- Phase is the slider at the top of the panel from then on. Move it when you pass a phase; moving to a looser phase asks for a confirmation.
- The server name only tells the firm: it can't tell an evaluation from a funded account, so no funded protection is added on a guess. The phase you set is the one in force.
- Passed a phase? The next login is pre-selected as the next phase, because the app saw the old one reach its target.
The panel
- Distance cards. Daily loss and max loss to lockout, with the lockout tick and the percent used; the target on balance.
- News line. The next events that affect your account, a countdown, and what closes when.
- If every stop is hit. Your worst case as a share of the daily limit, including the trade you are about to place.
- Lock switch and Done for today. Second row of the header. The reset countdown sits next to them.
- Toasts. Every action of the EA appears as a toast and in the journal's events.
- Reconnecting. A timeframe change or an EA update shows a grey "Reconnecting…" pill for a moment; nothing else moves. After a login switch in MT5 it stays until the figures belong to the new account: the EA waits for MT5's balance to agree with the account's own history before it builds the day, the lockouts or anything else, and entries, Pass now, the arms and the backstop wait with it.
Every protection, explained
Each one is switched on by the rule pack of your program. A rule your program doesn't have never shows.
Lockouts
Closed at 14:52 your time, 0.5% before the firm's 5% daily limit: −$4,512.40 of $5,000, two positions closed, one pending deleted. New entries open again at the firm's reset.
Unlocks in 9h 08mJournal and Stats stay readable. The EA keeps this lock even if the app is closed.
The lockout sits before the firm's line: 0.5% of the account before the daily limit (a 5% limit → 4.5%, a 3% limit → 2.5%, never below half of it) and at 90% of the max loss limit, so a slow fill on the way out still ends inside the rules. Those are the fixed margins: each lockout actually sits at the floor plus the larger of its fixed margin and what the open trades could move in a fast second (never more than half the limit), and an entry the lockout would close at once is refused with the lots that fit.
While a lock is on, a trade opened from outside Prop Logician is closed at once, then reported with what it cost, on the lock screen and on your phone. A max-loss lockout says how long it holds: until the balance is back above a stated figure when closed trades cannot get it there, otherwise until the reset.
A firm lockout cannot be undone from the app, because that would defeat it. Done for today and your own limit are yours to set, and they end at the reset. Journal and Stats stay readable during any lock.
The lock screen shows the figures exactly: the loss to the cent, what was open, and "limit passed by $X" when it was — never "safe". Every time is shown on your own clock; the firm's zone is in the tooltip.
Backstop stops. The EA closes at the lockout only while MT5 is on the account, so on a prop account it keeps stops on the broker's server sized so that if every stop is hit the account still ends above the lockout, the next reset included. It never loosens a stop you set, puts a removed or widened one back after a grace, and is on by default on prop accounts (off with one confirmed switch in the menu). Left unprotected. If MT5 leaves an account with positions or orders open, the app raises an alarm on every screen — the window comes up and flashes — until an EA watches that account again or you confirm you checked it.
Rule packs
Every limit, target and protection comes from a pack: one file per firm, program, type and phase. Packs are verified against the firm's own pages, every value backed by a quote, and carry the date. Every day each quote is looked for again on the firm's live page; one that goes missing flags its pack for review. The footer of the panel shows which pack is active and when it was verified.
When a firm changes a rule, the pack is rebuilt and ships as an update. A stricter rule applies at once and shows a toast; a looser one asks first, because your account may keep the old terms.
The ticket
- Risk: percent of equity or balance, a money amount, or fixed lots. Set once; it belongs to the account, so every chart of it sizes with the same risk.
- Stop and target: the red and green lines on the chart. Drag them. Press P to show or hide them: they start hidden on a new chart, a symbol change or a restart, and hide after every entry; Reset stop puts them back to the plan's defaults.
- Lot size follows the stop distance and the risk; above the broker's maximum it is split across orders.
- Market or Pending: a pending order uses the entry line.
- Checks: worst case, gap trading, sizing, hedge, best day and margin run before the order is sent. A refusal names the reason.
Manual tools
- Protect: SL to break-even, SL to swing, SL to last candle (the exact wick of the last closed one), Auto break-even (an arm with a trigger in R), and the Swing lock and Candle lock switches on top of the swing and candle buttons: while one is on, every stop on the chart's symbol follows the latest swing or the last closed candle of the chart's timeframe, once per candle. Every move is tighten-only and respects the broker's stop level.
- Bank: Close 25%, Close 50%, Partial at price (an amber line you drag; it shows what it banks and fires on the first tap of the price), Pass now (when the open profit covers the phase target, closes exactly the lots that bank it, after the Best Day, consistency and news-window checks; asks first), Profit lock.
- One trade of several: with more than one position on the chart's symbol, click one in the positions list (outlined in blue) and SL to BE, swing, candle, Close 25% · 50% and Close act on that trade only; click it again or choose All trades to go back. The arms, the partial line, Cancel pendings and Flatten stay account-wide.
- Flatten: Cancel pendings, Close symbol, Flatten account (asks first), Done for today.
- Lock switch: greys every action button and hotkey until you switch it off. Ticket settings still work.

Journal
The journal is written from the account: every closed trade with its R, the daily table, the monthly calendar and the protection events. Open the wide window (Open in a window on the Journal tab, or Ctrl+J) for the trade detail with the price path, MAE and MFE and the screenshots, the setups and tags, the daily notes, the reports and the discipline score. Report… produces the compliance PDF for a phase; Export CSV gives you the trades with your notes.
Every account you have ever run the EA on stays in the journal. Choose one, or All accounts.
Account and licence
- Trial: 7 days from the first run on that PC, one MT5 account. It ends into protection-only mode: protections keep running, the tools pause.
- Sign in with your email; a link arrives, no password. Solo covers one active account (movable when you pass a phase, or once every 30 days); Trader covers every account you run.
- Two PCs per licence: your desktop and a VPS. Free a seat from the account page.
- Your own live account. Choose My live account on the setup card: no firm rules apply, only your own tools act, and real-money accounts are allowed.
- Lapsed? 7 days of grace, then 30 days of protection-only, then the app asks you to renew. Nothing is deleted.
Troubleshooting
- "The EA is not receiving commands." Remove the EA from the chart and attach it again. The self-test at start checks the app-to-EA path and reports it in the chart dashboard.
- "Update the EA." The app is newer than the EA on the chart. Re-attach the EA once; updates normally reload it by themselves.
- The setup card keeps showing. The program choice is stored per login; choose it again if the terminal's data folder was reset.
- A provisional pack banner. The firm doesn't state one of its rules; the banner names it and says what the app does instead (warns only, doesn't enforce the limit, or resets the day at midnight on the server's clock). Confirm it with the firm; the pack updates without reinstalling.
- No news line. The app fetches the calendar every 15 minutes; with the app closed the EA uses its cache, then MetaTrader's calendar. The news line's tooltip shows the source.
- "A newer EA is published but this terminal still has build …" The app installed a newer EA into another terminal. Run Install the EA from the header menu for this terminal too; the EA reloads by itself.
- A "Not protected" pill. No request can reach the server: not connected, trading disabled, Algo Trading off, or the program not allowed. Fix that first; the waiting closes go the moment it can.
- Something else.
